Happy Second Birthday, Sarah Bo-Berra!

It is my hope that this blog will live on in some form for the girls to peruse when they're older, most likely when they're horrid teen agers and they're in search of clues, following my sudden disappearance, as to where I might have gone. (Hint - probably some tropical island. Don't worry, I'll come back when you're in college.). To that end I would like to state here, for posterity, some important facts about the beautiful, brilliant, unstoppable, irrepressible Sarah. Sarah is 2 today.

Sarah does not like to be held upside down, but does love to be thrown in the air.

Sarah knows that the whales in the arctic display at the aquarium are beluga whales and she can say "beluga whale". She likes them, but prefers the sea lions. She often tells us the sea lions bark.

Sarah loves the following songs best, but not exclusively:
High Five - They Might Be Giants
Double Dutch - They Might Be Giants
The Itsy Bitsy Spider - I don't know who wrote that
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star - Music by Mozart words by...?
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear - Again, no idea
Here Come The... - The Dino 5
The ABC Song - Mozart's tune

Sarah's favorite books include:
Good Night Moon
Hippos Go Berserk
Busy Doggies
Eight Silly Monkeys

Sarah's Favorite DVDs:
Any Sesame Street
Signing Smart - Songs & Rhymes
Brainy Baby - Laugh & Learn
They Might Be Giants - Here Come the 1,2,3s
They Might Be Giants - Here Come the ABCs

Sarah is bossy.

If you ask if her she loves you, she will say "No!", shaking her head and smiling. She does that with all names except Lola. She always says she loves Lola. Don't even joke about not loving Lola.

Sarah's got a little yogurt monkey on her back and goes through YoBaby yogurts like there's no tomorrow.

Sarah would rather be outside.

She is an excellent climber and has had the chain ladder from the ground up to the slide mastered for at least 8 months now.

Sarah is a daddy's girl. Except for when she's a mommy's girl. She loves Aunt Jo Jo but is an unapologetic Uncle Steve fan.

Sarah loves olives and chick peas. The trouble with olives is she keeps eating the pits. It's such a pain to try to remove them ahead of her olive-eating pace. Cherries present the same difficulty.

More than anyone else right now, Sarah loves her sister. While battling a little fever the other night as her daddy tucked her in, she skipped her usual list of people from whom she required a good-night kiss and simply said "Want my Kate".

Sarah loves to party. (Notice the Morning After picture to the right. We just found her that way the other morning. No idea what preceded it. Sometimes, it's better not to know.)

We love Sarah more than she can ever know.

Dear Sarah,
If you are reading this when you're 15 years old, and you are, in fact, horrible, please steal your mom's credit card and book a flight north. Aunt Ellen and I would love to have you stay with us. Steal whatever you want, just don't touch Ro's stuff. She'll come home from Oxford and end you.
