Not once, but twice this weekend, Kate pooped in the potty. And not just because I happened to have her on the potty at the time, oh no! She told me she had to use the potty and she produced poop! Jeremiah and I both did our best to behave as though she'd been recognized by the MacArthur Foundation with the cheering and the hugging and the hey, hey, hey. She seemed pleased. What she really cares about, though, is getting to flush the toilet. She often flushes it for no reason at all or if one of us is sitting on it. No amount of "No Kate! WAIT WAIT WAIT" has coaxed her out of the latter situation yet, but we're working on that.
Kate's poop itself is still an issue. We called the doctor yesterday and she seemed to think that 8 days of diarrhea was not alarming and told us to call back if it lasted more than 10. This is annoying to me especially because Kate really wants to eat some pizza. Instead, she's been eating yogurt, bananas, applesauce, small amounts of pasta and the occasional piece of peanut butter toast over and over and over. (And yes, mom, this is what the doctor told us to feed her.) It's even making me bored. Kate keeps saying "I want some bunny rabbits! I want pizza! I want a smoothie!" I've managed to surmount the smoothie request by making it with yogurt and banana and precious little else. The main problem is that she wants to eat whatever we're eating and I don't want to eat any of those things and it's becoming too challenging to only eat when she's not looking. That kid can sense mommy-eating-a-snack from any location in the house no matter how surreptitious I try to be. She must get that from her father, who always seems to know when I'm changing shirts. At any rate, I have a whole new respect for the affirmation "Solid!" now.

What?! No video? Word on the skreet is that the Drueke/Provost household is video capable now. So the people want ACTION in their blogs! We want pictures that move! Who's with me?! Let's storm the castle!! I can hear the crowds shouting now:
I WANT MY...I WANT MY .MPG!!
Miles per gallon?
Today, I got tire of waiting fo my pizza to heat up in the microwave, so I ate a bowl of Golden Grahams to pass the time.
Jeremiah has ordered some video editing software. As soon as it arrives, has been installed and we've both mastered it and lost 10 pounds (happy new year!), you'll get your .MPG.
Geez. Get a mac.
iMovie, GarageBand, QuickTime.
I wonder if the extended period of time for her diarrhea is being aided by the items she is presently eating, i.e no 'real solid foods'...
Kudos to Kate!! Potty training is a bit hard. I do my business in front of Irene and this past weekend she praised me. She looked in the toilet and said "Bravo Maman". Really should be the other way around.
