Why Provosts need glasses

A few years ago Keith, Ellen and Rosellen came for a visit. Ellen gave Jeremiah a copy of a Powerpuff Girls DVD for his amusement. (For more comments on Jeremiah's gayness go here.) In truth, we all enjoy it, but at the time, it was Rosellen who loved it most. She would stand up about 6 inches away from the television and do a funny little jig while watching it. Seeing this, I glanced at Keith, who just shook his head a laughed. "She does that whenever she really likes something." I thought it was a funny little thing.

We have one of those new-fangled flat screen televisions. No, we're not rich we just have our priorities in horrible order. Because it's perched on the wall and there's a piece of furniture in front of it, it's difficult for anyone, much less someone who is only 34" tall, to get too close to it. But I had to laugh when Kate took on shades of her older cousin...in order to get closer to Here Come the ABC's*, she just employed her step stool.

She already knows her alphabet and can recognize letters at random...unfortunately she probably won't be able to see them without some sort of pricey optical assistance. Oh...she also does the little dance. Genetic? Or just a kid thing?

*They Might Be Giants, Here Come the ABCs is another one of my parenting favorites. Kate loves it, she's actually learned her letters from it and, instead of being intolerable to listen to, it's good. We give it to everyone who has a child.

Maybe they were both Solid Gold Dancers in their last life.

Definitely a kid thing...and NOT specific to the female gender. My nephew, Todd, does an adorable little dance while watching most anything on TV.
